In 1925, Norris and Mary Glorioso Melancon built the cafe'.  It was a popular place for locals for many years, even after the Hebert family took it over.  In 1968, a scene from the movie "Easy Rider" was filmed in the cafe' and bikers come throughout the year to see where the cafe' once stood on La Hwy 1 in Morganza.  The locals will always remember the homemade biscuits and other delicious recipes that were served.  The Morganza Cultural District has a long term goal to rebuild the iconic cafe'.  Help us raise enough money to achieve this goal!
